Miracle City Church (MCC) in Baltimore needed a mark that accurately captured the moment of their 50th year. After working with them to understand the event and their goals for its identity, it was clear that the mark needed to be energetic but not playful, thoughtful but not boring, modern but not offensive to more mature tastes, and, most of all, it needed to be something reminiscent of the late 1960s. What we developed not only fit the bill, but it even followed in the spirit of Lance Wyman’s branding of the 1968 Olympics, the year of MCC’s founding.
