Avila Beach-based Tardiff & Saldo is a new law firm with deep roots—both in law and on the Central Coast. Life-long friends Dustin and Tyler grew up in SLO, both of their fathers are well-known local attorneys, and both have been practicing law since 2011. Opening up their own office after stints away from home was a no-brainer; now all they needed was a fresh new brand perfectly-suited for a couple of young, hungry, ahead-of-the-curve lawyers. That’s when they reached out to us.
Overall, the Tardiff & Saldo brand aesthetic is modern, clean, and flat, contemporary but not trendy, timelessly-suitable for any generation. Like attorneys Tyler and Dustin, the brand is serious, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s business-casual with an emphasis on the business—like nice jeans with a sharp sport coat.
Our favorite element of the new brand is the logo itself—the “abstract monogram,” as we’ve termed it. The mark is an abstract take on a T+&+S monogram, custom-created just for the Tardiff & Saldo brand. It not only creates interest, but incorporates the concepts and elements from the logomark into the wordmark and ties it all together perfectly. The logo is so simple and clean, yet striking and dramatic. Just the like the aesthetic on the whole, it is modern but not trendy, strong and professional but not institutional.
As one observer mentioned to us, “These guys are the sharpest lawyers in town. I definitely want them to take my case.” We agree. Case closed.
